1. Who We Are

Nirnay TV is a news and media application delivering breaking news, live television, audio/video content, and editorial reporting focused on Odisha and India. The App is operated from our newsroom in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. For the purposes of the DPDP Act, we act as the Data Fiduciary for the personal data we process, and you are the Data Principal.

8. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share limited data only:

9. Data Storage, Location & International Transfers

Your account data is stored on secure Supabase cloud infrastructure. Some service providers may process data on servers located outside India. Where personal data is transferred across borders, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected consistent with this Policy and applicable law.

10. Data Retention

We retain your account profile, bookmarks, and preferences for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we remove identifying personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymous, aggregated statistics that cannot identify you may be retained for analytics.

11. Your Rights & Choices

13. Children's Privacy

The App is a general-audience news service and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum digital-consent age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Under the DPDP Act, processing of a child's data requires verifiable parental consent; we do not knowingly process such data. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

14. Security

We apply industry-standard safeguards: encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), authentication delegated to Google (we never handle your password), and row-level security on our database so each user can access only their own data. While no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, we work to protect your information and will notify affected users and authorities of a personal-data breach as required by law.

15. Permissions We Request

The App does not request microphone, camera, location, contacts, or SMS permissions.

16. Cookies & Local Storage

The App is not a website and does not use advertising cookies. It stores small amounts of data locally on your device (e.g., your session, preferences, and cached bookmarks) so the App works quickly and offline. Embedded content (such as YouTube video) may set its own cookies governed by the relevant provider's policy.

17. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
